Two thousand births. One calling.

Chemin Pérez, LM, CPM
Licensed Midwife & Founder
Chemin has been serving women and families as a midwife since 2013, providing care in out-of-hospital settings — home births and birth centers — across Washington State, California, and Colorado. With over 2,000 births attended, her experience spans the vibrant diversity of Los Angeles and the close-knit connections of rural communities.
She has founded and owned three birth centers and worked alongside several others across Washington. Beyond her clinical practice, she is deeply committed to education, serving as a professor for more than five colleges and nursing programs, where she mentors the next generation of midwives and birthworkers.
A Mexican-American and the first licensed Mexican midwife in California, Chemin is fluent in Spanish and has been teaching childbirth education for over twenty years. Her practice is not only a profession but a calling — an expression of her faith and a lifelong dedication to women, families, and birth.
Above all, Chemin treasures her role as a wife and mother, drawing strength and joy from her own family as she supports others in their journeys.

Lauren Reaume Suggs
Women's Health Advocate & Student Midwife
Lauren is a local advocate for women's health and a student midwife attending the Mercy In Action College of Midwifery. Raised in a small-town community, she understands the unique challenges families face when access to maternity care is limited.
Her passion for midwifery began during her own pregnancies, when midwifery care wasn't available where she lived — an experience that inspired her to make sure other women have access to the compassionate, personal care she wished she'd had.
A homeschooling mother living in what she believes may be one of the most beautiful places on earth, Lauren is deeply connected to the Forks community. After completing her training, she plans to keep serving as a community midwife in Forks and the surrounding rural areas.
